We went to many of the individual artist shows at Coachella together, but not for FNM. She knew I wanted to get right up against the barrier as close to the stage as possible and that's really not her thing. We won VIP upgrades while we were there, so while I was in the mob, she was chilling on a hillside, enjoying a pina colada and a nice breeze.

most shows I'm fine being near the back; but having not seen them since the 90s and the assumption I'd never see them again, I wanted to be down close - in the thick of it. It was tight, but nothing bad happened at that show.

So something has been bothering me.

A friend of mine posted a link on Facebook to a video of the American rock band Coheed And Cambria performing a cover of Gotye’s single "Somebody That I Used to Know". As far as the song itself goes, I actually kind of like it. It’s a little kitschy and a year from now it will still be stuck in my head or I will have forgotten about it entirely.

I have an intense loathing of Coheed And Cambria. First of all, I just don’t like their music. I won’t go as far as saying they are talentless hacks, I just dislike them. The cover itself was mediocre at best. I love it when artists cover other music --- although I don't know if I like the trend of artist covering songs while they're still brand new and in the charts --- but thats a tangent point.

Anyways given my dislike for Coheed And Cambria and being that I ne'er to do well, I couldn't let this pass without making some sort of comment. I ended up going with "Oh, so they finally realized people hate their own music." Well, my friend did not appreciate that. So apparently because *I* don't like them I was making a vague generalization.

TBH, I wasn't even really looking to put the band down or put her down for her tastes --- I just couldn't help put a jab in there. If you post something online, whether it be Facebook, Tumblr, or wherever, you are inviting such commentary whether you like it or not IMO.

I agree - If you post something publicly on the internet, expect a reaction. if it's not one you can stomach or like, then don't post it on the internet.

Prfkt, I have never heard the version of Gotye's song you're speaking of. I am tempted to give it a look, though! I, honestly, don't care for Gotye's version. It's too dreary-mellow for me. I found a version I liked, though, from a band called Walk Off The Earth and I thought I'd share. It's a little more punk and I think the whole 5 people on the guitar bit is neat. I hope you like.
