DCU All-Stars Wave 3 Thread

Postby NoisyDvL5 » Fri Feb 24, 2012 11:05 pm

Wave 3 has been revealed courtesy of BBTS:

Mattel has just given us the go-ahead to begin preorders on DCU All Stars Waves 2 and 3.

Wave 2 contains:

Flash (New 52 JLA)
Red Robin
Supergirl
Superman (New 52 JLA)

Wave 3 contains:

Batgirl
Batman (New 52 JLA)
Hawkman
Steel with Hammer

All figures are available at $17.99 each singly, or $69.99 for the set of 4

Toy Guru previously revealed that Steel would be the long-anticipated reissue for Wave 3, but this is the first we’re hearing about the other three. The New 52 Batman comes as no surprise, but the other two could be anyone’s guess… though I wouldn’t hold my breath for Bette Kane or a Hawkworld version of Hawkman.

If it were up to me, it’d be a Stephanie Brown Batgirl and the mid-90s Hawkman (as featured in Total Justice) so it’s surely not those two versions either.

Hawkman? Too soon.

Well, series 1 still hasn't hit, so maybe series 3 isn't too bad. Just around here Magog and Hawkman are super easy to find since they were the double packs in that series. Concerned Hawkman won't move off the pegs in the long run.

I wonder if Steel will have same mate/chrome S shield variant in play.

Funny, cause Steel has long been one of my favorite of all the 4H DC stuff, and I always intended to try and track down the matte version (I own the chrome).

I hope Steel is exactly like his DC Superheroes version...so he'll be another figure i wont have to worry about picking up hehe. I'm actually loving the fact that they're throwing in reissues into these waves. Its a nice break from having to buy a wave of 6 or 7 figures. Keep the reissues coming haha

With word that the All-Stars line will be more Superman/Batman oriented, i hope we'll finally get to see some of the Batman and Superman figures that i've been wanting. Kingdom Come Batman and Superman, SuperPowers Superman, pre-Azbats Batman. General Kal El, Golden Age Kal-L, Warworld Superman, Red Son Superman. Theres still lots on untapped Superman/Batman potential.

With Steel being the re-issue from this wave I'm guessing it wont be Cassandra Batgirl? Steel Cassandra and Azrael are the only DCSH figure that I'm missing from my wants and it would be sweet to plug 2 holes at once.

Steel is the reissue for wave 3, so Batgirl and Hawkman SHOULD be new figures...

Can't fault their wave 3 selections. Wave 1 and 2 still feel like "stuff that was planned for wave 21, but then new 52, and the club happened"

I'm holding out for a DCSH Brainiac and Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne reissue.

I don't know that I'm excited for Steel. I still wish I had picked him up at Big Lots! all those years back for like five bucks.

A reissue Braniac would be awesome!
