For all the lines not covered in our themed forums. Think Thundercats, Ghostbusters, Voltron, Wrestling, Doctor Who, Power Rangers, Video Game Licenses, TV & Film Licenses... do I need to go on or did you have it figured out before I even started?
I'm not going to disagree with you though it might sound like disagreement is inherent in this statement.
If Vigo didn't turn out lackluster, he wouldn't fit in with the rest of the line.
I have really mixed feelings on him. I sit back and think what Neca could've done with him and, yeah, that's what a lot of us "meh"ers are comparing him too. I don't need everything to be "Neca-like" and I'm focusing on that though. I'm interested in getting him in hand and see how much (if any) of an improvement he is over Louis and see if the in-house Mattel designers are on any kinda of a learning curve as we get to that Dana.
I did have second thoughts about ordering him today though. Like, why bother to buy something for a line I don't care about any more. Other than the soft facial sculpt I'm okay with how he turned out. I'm glad Pixel Dan posted his video review last night, it definitely helped me. I'll wait until I have Vigo in hand to make up my mind though.
It's going to be very hard to review him. I don't think he's that bad a figure, but his articulation has obvious flaws (he can't do his iconic painting pose, for example). I'm just not sure where to strike the balance. I think the folks that want him criticized will surely think I'm being too soft and the folks that love him will think I'm being too critical.
If you want a Vigo on your shelves, he'll do. He won't win any awards doing it, but that's true for the whole line.
I'm stuck on whether or not to order the RTBY Venkman. I do want the Taxi Ghost and I don't mind having that little subset completed, but he's going to be cheaper later isn't he? I mean, I know that's true for just about every toy I buy, but it's just kinda bleh on spending $30 on him right now.
