News from Hobbiton

For all the lines not covered in our themed forums. Think Thundercats, Ghostbusters, Voltron, Wrestling, Doctor Who, Power Rangers, Video Game Licenses, TV & Film Licenses... do I need to go on or did you have it figured out before I even started?

so the master toy license for the hobbit movies goes to the bridge direct.

i know what you're thinking... "who?"

my thoughts exactly. so i google, and i get this:
http://www.thebridgedirect.com/lines.html

hey, these are the guys who brought you the incredible and very necessary kung zhu toys, along w/ the much lauded justin beiber figs.

so quite likely, my LOTR stuff will go un-added to w/ the release of these "toys." sorry, i don't hold out much hope reading that craptastic roster of shiz... they look like they make happy toys professionally and are proud of it. i wouldn't be.

Obi Wan? I don't get it . . .

As for that choice, that's odd.

Though who knows, with any luck maybe the creative end of things will be WETA dudes (like with the Sideshow distro'd statue stuff) and this crap company just doing the reselling?

Definitely will be disappointing if they're super kiddy or crappy like that Bieber . . . thing.

Especially since it seems Peter Jackson is a big toy/miniatures guy, you think he'd only sign off on something cool.

especially in light of how incredibly awesome the TB LOTR line was... it would be nice if they would try to make things at least vaguely compatible.

The press release did say "collector figures", so let's hope they aren't Barbie fans' idea of a collector figure. [domo]

They are the Master License holder which means they can then re-sell any scales or sub lines they don't want. Plush, cosplay, Partyware, dolls, action figures are all possibilities from them but also things that could be sold to others. There's a chance they will sell off action figures to someone like playmates, NECA, or SOTA.

Yeah, I don't buy that either.

No special dispensation to let the guys at Marvel Select make one big dwarf pack for all the new characters?

Catching up on some reviews this one is a mix match of odd couples.

Nick Fury, Gandalf the Grey, Nightwolf and Undead Geo get a view this time, hope you enjoy.

Did I miss that in the Round-Up? I can add it in next week on the big one.

Anyway, these Hobbit toy reviews are popping up and everyone seems pretty thrilled. I've never had an affinity for them, but all the pro talk is good to hear.
