I actually kinda like this wave. It's heavy on nostalgic value, at the very least.

You guys seem pretty excited over Bronze Tiger, but I admittedly have no idea who that dude is, so he's the one I'm the least interested in.

Oh, and El Dorado. Cuz even when I was watching Superfriends with all the silly characters, I didn't find him particularly interesting.

No interest in El Dorado or modern Boomerang for me.
I'm hoping El Dorado comes with a Superfriends stand so I can pass on him completely.
He really has a Al Pacino during Scarface facial sculpt to me. And Boomerang is like a really tall Seth Green.

To me, Boomerang looks like Jackie Earle Haley from Watchmen and Human Target.

Scissors my man, check out BT's wiki profile, and then go dig up some old Suicide Squad comics as to how awesome BT is. He's the guy who killed the original SA Batwoman, and gave Batman a hard time in hand-to-hand combat. This guy is that good!

As for more likes, I like that they finally made Captain Boomerang(LOL on the tall Seth Green comment he does look as sleazy like he really is right), Black Vulcan(yeah I know some/most think he's a lame Black Lighting rip-off, but I like his costume and starfruit), Bronze Tiger of course, and Toyman(his SF look is much better than the comic book version)

El Dorado's face does makes him look like he stepped out of a Scarface impersonation convention, so me no likey.

Just waiting to see what the JSA wave looks like, 'cause I want GA Flash and GA Sandman real bad!

All read up on BT (Bronze Tiger or Ben Turner? You decide) now. He certainly is made out to be a tough guy, isn't he?

Unfortunately, BT also falls into the 'obscure hero' category for me, so.... [domo]

Yeah, but no so obscure that Mattel decided to make him though.
So when are other members of Suicide Squad going to come out?

I have to appreciate all the hate this wave is getting from older comics fans.

I totally understand some annoyance with figure selections that aren't everyone's cup of tea, but once we start throwing around terms of this character deserves this or that, it gets a bit muddled.

Isn't "such and such has been around for thirty years and deserves" still just "I want!!" ?

I can somewhat understand all the venom coming from some fans with the Superfriends theme. Being from the older portion of fans its definately an age thing. Not sure what the age breakdown is when it comes to fans but i'm one of the few thats actually excited to see these figures come out. I'm old enough to have seen Superfriends on TV (not cable hehe) first run when they came out in the late 70's. The Superfriends is what introduced me to comics and is the reason for my love of DC Comics in particular. Are the "Global Guardians" superfriends kinda lame...yea they are. They certainly werent when i was a kid. But just like everything you loved as a kid not necessarily living up to yer standards as an adult, Superfriends isnt immune to this standard. I for one still look back at Superfriends with fondness and am excited to see these characters made into figures. C'mon people...its only the 2nd version of these characters to come out(3rd for Samurai) And yes when you look at them with modern eyes they certainly do come off as stereotypical and lean towards racist...BUT that can be said about alot of things from the past when you look back at them with a different sensibility. I Do appreciate Mattel putting out these figures as a nod to those older Superfriends fans. As a child i loved Superfriends in all their incarnations (Challenge, Galactic Guardians, Super Powers) We pretty much will have the SuperPowers love letter completed and in one wave we have the homage to Superfriends done. I dont think this signs the end of the DCUC line. Its just one wave of many that by the looks of it have less fans....or at least more vocal fans. I do appreciate Mattel's attempt at shinging a light into every corner of the DCU. This is just one corner.

Hey, waitaminute, what hate? I for one actually am interested in most of this wave (4 out of 6 plus Apache Chief), which is far more than I could say for the last few (13, 14 and 15). I too remember watching Superfriends on TV when I was a wee lad who didn't really understand much of the stories, but that was my first exposure to superheroes, hence I have a real affinity for these silly Superfriends characters.

I'll also admit I have never been much of a comic reader, and what few comics I used to read were mostly Marvel. That's why I feel no connection to DC characters like Metal Men and Doom Patrol, and can afford to cherry-pick DCUC figures as much as I have been.
