Cyber Monday Announced

As we suspected, He-Man, Skels, and Battle Cat will get reissues...

Cyber Monday Sale 11/29-12/5 Details Announced
October 7, 2010
By Matty

Toy Fans,

When you’re too stuffed to get out to the stores, where better to shop than from the comfort of your computer? My biggest sale ever starts Monday, November 29th at 9 AM Pacific (Noon Eastern) and ends on Sunday December 5th at 11:59 PM Pacific (2:59 AM Eastern)!

We’ll have a total of 21 products ready and waiting to go home with you. Are these sloppy seconds that didn’t sell the first time? No! They’re delicious leftovers from customer service stock that were held back for returns and damages. However, because they’re leftover stock, that means quantities are EXTREMELY limited in many cases. If there’s something you missed out on before that you want, don’t wait. This could be a last-chance deal so get ‘em while you can!

So what are the 21 products? Well, I can’t spill all the details right off the bat, but I will tell you these three to start. They’re all from the second run (first time for Battle Cat®!), so they have “The Original” burst on the package.

•MOTUC He-Man®
•MOTUC Skeletor®
•MOTUC Battle Cat®

Then, each week over the next 5 weeks, I’ll reveal more products:

•October 14th – 3 more products revealed
•October 21st – 3 more products revealed
•October 28th – 4 more products revealed
•November 4th – 4 more products revealed
•November 11th – final 4 products revealed

But hang on, there’s even MORE big news… on Monday, November 29th ONLY from 9 AM Pacific (Noon Eastern) till 11:59 PM Pacific (2:59 AM Eastern), we’ll give you 10% off the total price of any order over $100, excluding taxes and fees! All products must be purchased during the same transaction and shipped to a single address so not only will you save on products, you’ll save on shipping, too!

Speaking of saving, if you’ve still got a coupon for $8 off the purchase of a Battle Cat® figure this is your last chance to use it. Please note that you’ll need to have the original coupon code to take advantage of this offer.

So remember… the sale is on for one week only from Monday, November 29th through Sunday, December 5th, with November 29th being your super savings day. This is the perfect chance to get all your holiday shopping done for the toy fans in your life – and get a little something (or a lot of little somethings) for yourself!

— Matty

P.S. Like always, I’ll post reminders on Twitter and Facebook. You can also sign up to register for email reminders.

The other reveals sound like mostly leftovers, is anyone hoping for something cool though? I don't know if we should be or not.

the thing that aggrivates me about the CM sale is this discount thing... the matty site can't handle extant traffic, add more items and NO ONE will be able to place orders in that 1 hr time frame. it's absolutely preposterous to think anyone can casually slip in, like every other website that will be offering cyber monday sales, and order your product and enjoy the discount that a SALE day should offer.

for anyone planning on negotiating the website of horror that that day will entail, i'd love to see somebody run an experiment... open two browser windows, one w/ matty, and the other one for all the other cyber monday sites they intend to hit... and see how much longer it takes to complete the matty order that it does to order from everywhere else.

I think the reissues are a great idea, and really, this should be a set in stone thing.
Like say, every Memorial Day and Cyber Monday, normal He-Man and Skeletor are put up for sale.
And keep doing it as long as they sell out within a week.

For me personally, I can't think of anything I'd be interested in.
Trying to rack my brain . . .

Ahh, but Lay Ze, you forget that those fools over there think that frenzy drives sales. So if you, the customer, knew that you'd have another guaranteed time/place to get a certain character in the future, you may be more apprehensive to purchase that character now.

I really think your idea is a great one for collectors, but let's call a spade a spade. Dispite all their efforts to call this a "collector driven line", it's really their "lien" and they position things to make our buying choices for us weather we, as the customer, even realize it.

Evil genius much?

IF and WHEN they screw up and kill teh lien they'll blame the fans as always... Just like you remember...

I just hope that Bow, Glimmer, Angella, Marlena, Sorceress, Flipshot, Hydron, Slush head, Flogg, Mantenna, Leech, Ram Man, MEF, Two Bad, Modulok, and a bunch of other guys and gals from all eras are made before they kill teh lien.

The Cyber Monday sale is going to be a cluster - mangosteen of epic proportions.

Seriously, mattel couldn’t have at least made an attempt to give a decent sale? That has to be the most pathetic sale I’ve ever heard or read of.

I don't see why you're saying reissues, they all sound like leftovers to me. Items they held aside to cover breakage issues.

Regardless, I imagine this sale will set the bar in online Matty complaining.

Battle Cat is a reissue and somewhere in the Ask Matty section Toy Guru said that the third runs of He-Man & Skeletor were coming soon. Add a little bit of supposition on my part and you get reissues. I think everything else will be remaining stock, but I think those three will be new.

i understand where you're at here HM, and i must say, even though two-bad and clawful were two of my favorites ever, i think the top guy i "miss" at this point, and hence my worst regret if they kill teh lein before they get to him... ram man. it's like releasing frodo without samwise.

Interesting.

I wonder how quickly these will sell out this time? And since they're making Panthor, I do see the logic of making new Battle Cats at the same time.
