Yeah traditional blue grass that still shows it's heritage is fantastic. Clearly american music but still that sound of the hills of ireland.
EXACTLY!! my dad is on this inexplicable kick of bluegrass gospel but it's all contemporary bands (so he's thoroughly invested in the gaithers' houseboat fund) and the few times i've said "hey, if you like this stuff, you should peep some blue grass boys or tommy jarrell" and he looks at me like i'm retarded. if it's not available for 9.99 at the gaither concert "praise the lord and price the ammunition" tour, he doesn't know and doesn't care. he's been sucked into this commercial "let's get ya saved!" music thing and seems to be buying himself a stairway to heaven, so to speak, based on gospel CD's of mediocre musicians. oh well. his loss man.
