G.I. Joe Adventure Team!!

This is going to be an expensive habit, but I think I'm more excited for these than just any other new stuff yet. The air adventurer comes packaged with an AT Helicopter (a Fang repaint) the land adventurer comes packaged with an awesome six-wheel jeep (love those). I'm not as excited for the Commander he comes with a venus flytrap and Doc Venom (don't care 'bout him), but I'll buy since I want the AT Cmdr.

These are gonna be sweet. I'd love to get the original 4 12"ers in 25th style!

Re: G. I. Joe - RAH, Sigma Six, 25th, ROC, Any Joe Goes

On a sidenote, Mattel could learn a thing or two from Hasbro on packaging. I look at those and thing "man, I have to tear those up?" whereas I can't throw away the MOTUC packaging fast enough.

The Doc Venom one isn't as good, which is ironic, since I may divest myself of that one and not tear it open.

And I totally forgot, I *HAVE* to buy all of these because they're Matteling it up. The one I want most is being held onto for a "possible 2nd wave if the first sells well". I'm sure it would without me, but still...

Man, this is probably one of the coolest ideas that the Joe people have ever done. I know it would cost a bazillion dollars, but if Hasbro made all the stuff from the Action Team series into 25th Anniversary I would buy them all. I'm hoping they will at least finish the classic AT and do the Sea Adventurer and the black Team Commander.

These are definitely getting reviewed on the site!

Mockups of these were shown at the Collector's Club Panel at JoeCon '09 (we didn't go to that panel, so you won't find it our coverage... oops). After the con, nothing materialized on these until now. They'll now debut at JoeCon 10 but will be available to order by anyone in the JoeClub.

I can't find the pics on TNI, but I found them here... 379 is a mockup of the five figures. Doc Venom is being included with these guys to help bridge the continuity gap I suppose (and fans are most excited about him). If you change the numbers, then 380 is the Air Adv w/ AT Helicopter, 381 is the Cmdr and Venom with the flytrap, 382 is the awesome 6-wheel jeep with the Land Adv. And finally, 383 is the sea adv with a sub - but it's release is contingent on the first sales.

Not to pooh on the parade here, but aren't those just the same figure (head sculpt too) repainted with different colors?

I can't leave yet! I have questions! Why do they look that way? Were they made that way on purpose (a nostalgia thing?). It seems like toy companies do hat a lot. That's what I'm guessing anyway... so why change it now, right? :?
