Playmates' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

For all the lines not covered in our themed forums. Think Thundercats, Ghostbusters, Voltron, Wrestling, Doctor Who, Power Rangers, Video Game Licenses, TV & Film Licenses... do I need to go on or did you have it figured out before I even started?

First look at Classics Bebop and Rocksteady:

Scale is a little iffy, but they do look really cool.

Btw, that damn Shellraiser is like $50+ on the secondary market now.
Missed my window . . .

These things are apparently now showing up over here on Amazon.co.uk. I just hope Leatherhead makes it over here, because the bastiches aren't allowing overseas shipping on orders placed in American e-tailers.

I'm tempted to get doubles of B&R and modify one set to go with my 4H Turtles.

But total "le sigh" at the MTV Geek video with the Playmates sales rep dude showing off all the 'action feature-y' product.

I wonder if today's kids hate all that crap as much as I did when I was little.

That said, that pizza box playset is pretty ingenious.

I don't think any kid actually WANTS that dumb crap like that. Its for the folks who don't know what the buy their kids or grandkids or need to pick up a present to for their kid to give some other kid in their class.

Or maybe it's for real little kids who don't really care what the character is and just enjoy the random gimmick?

Cause as soon as I reached the age where I was like "I want (character X)" I didn't want any random variant or repaint version, I wanted the normal version.

That was one thing w/ me and TMNT... I never went for any of the wHaCky CrAzY vArIaNtS! Aside from the traditional TMNT the only others that I had were the storage shell turtles, which I think I ended up liking a lot more than the originals. I also had the disguise ones, where Leo was a Samurai, Surfin' Mike, Space Raph, and Undercover Don. They were actually pretty neat, and I think because of the unique sculpts and difference amongst them all I liked 'em.

I never even knew about half the ones that were out there. I don't know if that was because I had quit the line at that point or what. The wind-up ones were utterly pointless, and I recall a friend of mine had them and they all broke. I knew about the movie and the toon ones... maybe a few other themes. I never knew about the Star Trek ones, or if I did I didn't remember.
