Ecto-Thread: Ghostbusters! (SDCC 2011 News Pg. 18)

For all the lines not covered in our themed forums. Think Thundercats, Ghostbusters, Voltron, Wrestling, Doctor Who, Power Rangers, Video Game Licenses, TV & Film Licenses... do I need to go on or did you have it figured out before I even started?

I want Vigo... but I just don't think he's going to look as good as he could've after that Clortho figure.

Sounds like you got a good deal! I still want the Winston from that 4pk, but not at the cost of the other figures. Though I'd be more apt to keep the figures in those costumes. Maybe I can hope for clearance or a birthday gift someday.

Also, speaking of Winston, the fixed figure shown at C2E2 (or Wondercon, I don't remember) looks really good!

The other funny thing to note is this Ray figure from Wonder (pics courtesy of SDComics, he has a ton at the Mess here: http://www.criticalmess.net/index.php?topic=13567.615 )

I'm not looking the Mattyhorse in the mouth, they fixed Winston after all, but now it looks like they fixed him by means of splitting the difference with that Ray figure above. How shoestring is the Ghostbusters budget?? Geez!

You mean, if Vigo were sculpted by the 4H instead of Mattel?

So the Ghostbusters schedule is wonky and they won't even straight answer about what's coming out when.

I just wish Slimeblower Winston would coincide with something else on the site. Maybe Vault'll want extra stands or something.

Question.

I'm a big Stay Puft fan that already spends too much money on toys.

So should I really be trying for that Giant Stay Puft?

is this even a question? i knew the minute i watched that clip you were eventually reviewing your stay puft man. just admit who you are, and buy the damned stay puft. just scale back on some other stuff to make sure he fits your budget. or donate plasma and increase your budget.

Now, now. YOU don't buy to many toys, the compan (IAT) does. It's a business expense for the company

At least that is what you need to tell Sil

Your call

http://www.actionfigurepics.com/gallery ... CN3641.JPG

Either it looks good or it doesn't.

I read on other boards people complaining about the cracks that were showing it in. For a $70 item, there really shouldn't be any cracks, BUT, I expected it to look much worse.
From what I read, if you squeeze it, it will compress and then when it comes back to shape, a crack will form. Since it's sorta foamy, they had to give it hard soles for it to stand on and those are coming unglued from the rest of the feet/body. You can see two cracks on the screen right leg.

But I guess if you treat it well and it's just sitting on a shelf, not much should happen to it.

For me, it's a no go on price.
Hasbro destroys Mattel on price.
$50 for Galactus, $100 for At-At. But for $70 you get a Stay Puft from Mattel?
Is he big, yes. But that's it really. No electronics, minimal articulation (but granted that was to be expected) so I just don't see where the cost comes from. From Hasbro, it would be $35. Since it's Mattel, it's $70. And I can't support that.

and how you record it on your taxes. i'd even consider filing for an ein number and forging "IAT LLC," at for reals, it opens up a lot of expenses now to be deductions for a small business later.
