The "Catch-(Mostly)-All" Toy Thread

For all the lines not covered in our themed forums. Think Thundercats, Ghostbusters, Voltron, Wrestling, Doctor Who, Power Rangers, Video Game Licenses, TV & Film Licenses... do I need to go on or did you have it figured out before I even started?

Swamp Things look cool, I would've loved those as a kid.
Looks like they would've gone well with RGB figs.
Only vaguely remember the toon, might have to check YouTube. [smile]

Yeah Captain Power, I didn't understand the interactive light-up feature either because I never had any of the ships.

When I first got on eBay I rebought the entire figure collection which I have loose still!
And I finally got the Power On set that I always wanted.
All that stuff was surprisingly cheap, brand new and all.
Haven't checked prices lately, maybe I should check to see if the ships are cheap.

I would love to see some 6" scale Captain Power figs!

I give you the 6x6 Defender...

Now that I remember it, I must have it again. It's going on the "future eBay list".

Oh man I think one of my brothers had a Rambo fig or two.

What a bizarre property to market to kids!

Pretty fun toys from what I remember though!

Totally remember that guy, but not the name.
A friend of mine had a bigger one, but I think it was simplified.

I remember when my parents gave me choices, and looking back I chose poorly, like Metroplex or the Joe Swamp-masher. I remember one time being at Springfield TRU and wanting NightForce Joe stuff for my birthday, but I wasn't allowed to get the vehicles because my grandmother correctly identified them as repaints I already had. (I still am a sucker for repaints like that too).

Painful choices, those. I remember them well. [wtf]

True, true.

It's probably to blame for all of society's ills.

Toys based on violent entertainment = our downfall

Oh and speaking of Captain Power, Noisy you should ask Mattel about CP in your next round of questions.

Just like, do they have any rights to do any merch, would they ever consider doing anything new, etc? [smile]

ah, sign of the times... a lot of us had dad's who were nam vets, or korea vets (or certainly, guys who lived through that time, if they weren't themselves veterans) and these guys were exposing us to real life terror that DRAMATICALLY eclipsed anything robo was doing on screen. lord knows mine was a holy terror at that time. terminator was a welcome form of relief after dealing w/ dear old dad. it's so cute now, cuz he's old and in ill health, and the boys think he's just lovable old grandpa dave... they have NO idea what i ducked when he came home from work every day, and w/ luck, they never will. they don't need to know. but i don't blame violent toys, i don't blame violent media, we as humans have an innate bloodlust that we've yet to overcome or really embrace and be hoenst about. we've had wars and hatred and violence long before robocop or toxic avenger. those kids in uganda getting pulled out of their beds at night and handed a machine gun when they're 10 (or younger) beat any story of violence we can even imagine seeing on TV or in movies, and some of those kids are now leading the movement for peace and disarmament over there. we can all be redeemed, if we wish to be.

My father let me watch Aliens on HBO when I was 6....I think nightmares were a thing of the past at that point. I loved it...getting to watch that movie it was a thrill for a 6 year old. He laid out the movie and let me choose if I wanted to see it or not, and I did. I got to stay up late to watch it as well.
