Rattlor is in the same category. I used to use his head-springing action to knock over other figures, won't be able to do that anymore!
of yeah, i'm not saying the figure sucks or anything, just that for me, in this case, the nostalgia allure was more in his action feature than the character. i have that tendency a lot w/ motuc, actually, which is why this time around, the characters that seem to really mean something to me now are the ones that are new to the line. for a lot of the vintage characters, i was more attached to the feature.
that really came to light during the tmnt line too, holy CRAP did i love that line, but today? you couldn't interest me in half those characters cuz they wouldn't replicate the action feature in the new figure, like for example w/ mutagen man or even a scumbug, and no one ever, in the entire future history of toys will ever surpass muckman as the best pure toy ever created. they just won't. you could give it a voice chip, 100 PoA, make him 2 feet tall, and he could come w/ a real midget dressed as joe eyeball, it would not top the original figure.
so back to motuc, i like the guys now who either really showcase innovative new developments (like fisto having two different looks) or guys that are flat out new and are letting me create new memories around new characters, new ideas, new stories (like vikor). i'm definitely NOT into motuc as a means to replace then entirety of my vintage collection, and i'm not sold at all on the characters who don't change up from the vintage formula.
