You all have some amazing collections that look great on display! My MOTUC collection is quite small (about 20 figures right now), but I am trying to buy one or two new ones a week...

(First post here by the way!)

Thanks Lay Ze-Man. :)

I looked around for a good forum and this one seems to be the best for what I need. I've also been getting some of the DC Classics figures (mostly just ones that remind me of my 1970's Mego-era childhood - not trying to 'collect' those), but with the He-Man Classics these photos here have inspired me to want more! :)

here's a shot that might help you out CC... optikk, the gold guy w/ the eyeball for a head, is a motuc character, and he has a mongul fig just in front of him to the left of frame, and behind him to the left of frame also, then there's a parasite behind mongul... and then etrigan is the red clad horned dude in the very front, just right of center... that should help you get an idea of the scale of those characters.
Image

here's a selection of shots for some size and style comparisons, next to the king grayskull fig and the he-ro fig... let the temptations begin.

Nice pics, thanks for posting! I've been eyeing some different figures for a bit now (wrestling, DC, Marvel, etc.) that look like they could easily fit right in, this is a good help for size/scale.

I found a guy online selling a lot of his MOTUC figures, I just bought 20 figures for $250. A few are dupes of ones I already have, so I may trade them away or try some customs, but it will be nice to add in a few new characters from other lines.

So far every day for the last 3 weeks now, my 6 year old has come home from school, watched an episode of MOTU on Net-Flix, then played with the figures for a good hour - he loves them and it is so much fun reliving the memories of when I was a kid.

It is also neat that each episode teaches something to the kids (something I forgot about), he brought he-man for Show and tell and told the class about how doing drugs is bad and dangerous, etc, so it is really nice that after all these years those cartoons are still getting a good message across to little kids.

that is fantastic man. i've always believed, and say it often, that the ultimate goal of any toy is to inspire the imagination and create play... and we ALL need some play time. any thing that bonds us w/ our kids is a good thing.

some additional photos, mostly for scale, but some for the fig, or the lighting... trying a different camera this time to see if it does any better.

these first couple are mostly for scale... there's a marvel masterpiece galactus in the back, MU gigantic battles frost giant, LCBH pitt, giant man and sentinel BAF's, and a couple legends... and a stegosaurus.

these next shots are some nice atmospheric pieces... aka lights off, but LED's on. i want a nice spotlight lamp i can use to bolster over all luminosity for these kinds of photos, but i don't want too much light. still exploring options. anyways, we have skeletor atop snake mt, overlooking the fright zone w/ the tops of castle grayskull in the background. there are also a few scale shots in there, MAA next to mongul, kalibak (from DCUC) and draego, to offer an idea of how compatible the sizing is

alright, and these last two are dio pics using the vintage fright zone and the MU frost giant. he's inspecting a caught vikor, chosen because the fright zone jail cell has chains dangling off the wall, and vikor has broken chains hanging from his wrist... except that vikor is way too much toy for the cell. the door did not fully close on him... because you can't contain the awesomeness of VIKOR! the first shot is a dimly lit atmospheric, showcasing the newly dubbed "pool of power" draining away the potency of our hero to keep him subdued, and the second is fully lit to showcase the set, the giant, and the lighting rig under the fright zone. basically, i used some xmas LEDS, tucked the battery pack and lights under the fright zone floor (which has a nice load of space for that purpose) and set a green plastic rock atop them i got, i think from an old superman. i love that glow effect, i didn't expect the lighting to come through the plastic so brightly.
