Thor Movie Figures

Postby michaelcrawford » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:58 am

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across the new Thor movie line at the local Target this week. I picked up a couple of the Thor varieties, and found one to be terrific, and one to be less so. But the one consistent feature was the terrific sculpting.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading, and have a terrific weekend!

Thanks for the review, Michael!

I've been hoping to run across these, but our Target & TRU have been devoid of any product since the blizzard earlier in the month. TRU went two weeks without a truck. I'm not sure about TGT, but they sure haven't added anything new to the toy aisles.

I'm sure, in a few weeks, there will be more Thor figures than I can shake a stick at though.

Street date on the box is March 1
BUT Hasbro recalled the street day at the beginning of this month.
Good luck explaining that to someone at Target who finds the box in the back with the big street date warning on it though. . .
YMMV on getting them to give you some or not

Heehee.

I did find them and let 'em be. By the time I got 'em it was all Thors and they still looked cool, but weren't as compelling in person.

(Cap figures will be a different story though).

I'm just not too in love with the Thor design.

I guess it looks fairly cool, but I think I'll be more down with that Thor in a group as part of the Avengers movie.

The review was very solid. I guess the only thing I was not in love with is the face. I know it is really difficult to make an accurate face at that size, but it seems a bit off. I'll have to check them out in person, but the shots look slightly wrong.

They're decent in person. Not Hasbro's best or worst (best for me are Joes and worst was the first series of Indiana Jones toys)

I am iffy on these, I like some very much but others I fell a huge sence of "meh" towards them.

I want some, but there are better versions of Odin, Thor, & Loki coming, so... what does Hasbro want me to buy right now? I can see picking up the Warriors 3, Sif, etc, but again, those aren't out either. It's a bummer.
