We were going to have the Crimson Neo-Viper and Doctor today, but our local Wal-Mart brought a nice treat today, the “Offscreen” ROC 2pk of Shockblast and Night Creeper! Buying Joes isn’t just about picking up a lot of individual figures, it’s about vehicles and playsets too. While some of my fondest memories of playing with Joes are vehicle-based, I’d been avoiding buying any ROC vehicles. There are a couple of reasons for this. JoeWeek keeps on rolling! Today, we bring you two more third wave figures, Anthony “Flash” Gambello and the Para-Viper. Flash, like Helix, is another figure that’s design comes to us via the ROC video game while the Para-Viper is a repaint of the 25th Anniversary version, but in the red/black M.A.R.S color scheme. JoeWeek keeps on rolling! In the bevy of movie Joes, two in particular caught a lot of folks attention, one for being unique and the other for being generic: Helix, a new Joe created as an unlockable character for the video game, and the Pit Commando, an army building Joe that comes packaged with 13 Yes, I know I’m a slowpoke, but last night I went and finally watched G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. When I was a kid, I watched the cartoon but I’ve never read the comic book. I collected the toys back then also, but until the recent movie figures; the last Joe toy I bought We had a great time at JoeCon. Nearly everyone we met was very nice, helpful, and loved G.I. Joe. The panels were exciting. The new product blew us away. In one word, it was awesome. There was only one bad side effect to the whole thing: since we’ve gotten back, we can’t stop buying Joes. |
